Just opened a fresh bottle from Castilla y Leon, the autonomous community of Ribera del Duero.
Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes and aged in French Oak for 12 months, 45% new barrels and 55% used. 15% alcohol!

Nose: Ripe fruit in season, roasted, slight note of fireplace, balsamic, spices (cinnamon, pepper)
Taste: Ripe black fruits, smooth and soothing to palate, balanced and end marked by tannin.
Quite a heavy wine to drink on it’s own, possibly because of it’s high concentration levels and end taste marked by tannins. Although having it with my chicken asado for dinner and it’s a perfect complement!
