There were two reasons why Belgium was the starting point to my culinary tour of Italy and Spain. The first is that the country is home to, what is my opinion, the finest chocolates in the world (and as most people who know me will confirm, chocolates – along with wine and coffee – form the holy trinity in my Food Bible).
